Herding group Dogs in this group herd sheep or cattle, also most Herding breeds  tend to herd young children, sometimes by nipping at the kids heels, but otherwise, they are playful,  friendly partners.  All Herding dogs are intelligent, some breeds such as  Border Collies are the smartest in the world…  But these are no apartment dogs! They are energetic, and need lots of exsersice.
